Why a Screen Matters

A proper screen dramatically improves contrast, color accuracy, and sharpness compared to a wall. Even a $100 screen is a major upgrade.

Fixed Frame Screens

The flattest, most uniform surface. Ideal for dedicated theater rooms. $200 to $2,000+.

able Screens

Hide when not in use. Manual $80-$300, motorized $300-$1,500+.

ALR Screens

Essential for ultra-short throw projectors. They reject ambient light while reflecting projector light toward viewers.

Screen Gain

1.0 gain reflects light equally. Higher gain (1.2-1.5) concentrates light toward center. For most theaters, 1.0-1.3 is ideal.

Sizing

Screen width should be half to two-thirds of seating distance. For 10-foot seating, 100-120 inches works well.
